This is the place you can see the notes we have taken from the lesson that day. This is a great resource for students to use to help answer homework, practice the skill taught, and study for tests.
This is the curriculum your child will be using throughout the school year. In their binder their will be a purple folder that they will put their complete problem set or any other work from the lesson that day. The problem sets and math journal will be a great resource to use to help with homework and studying. After each math unit we will clean out their purple folder to make room for the new unit.
The children will work on A Math daily. The program allows students to work at their own pace and level. Students may work on this site at home as well. You can find the website under helpful websites on my webpage or their google classroom.
Zearn is a great resource that matches the lessons we use in Eureka for students to use for extra practice at school and home. You can find this website under helpful websites on my webpage or their google classroom.
This site is great for students to practice math facts. Their goal will be to complete 5 minutes each day to build on their math facts. Students can use this site to practice facts and other math skills at home. You can find this site as well under helpful websites on my webpage or their google classroom.
The children should have learned the addition and subtraction facts from memory last year. They will have timed quizzes to monitor understanding and speed. The quizzes will have about 100 problems in which the children will have five to ten minutes to complete.
Beginning in October the children will be responsible for learning the multiplication and division facts from memory. We will begin with 1-minute quizzes on each set and build up to 5 minutes quizzes with all facts.
Testing will occur when needed after each major skill has been taught.
